PolyScience, Niles, IL – IT Manager (since 3/2005; Senior Developer since 3/2004; Consultant since 2002). Created basic components of the IT infrastructure for the company, including database architecture (SQL Server), full customer service solution (Access ADP/SQL Server), Quality Control real-time testing and certification solution (VB6, VB.Net), and numerous other projects, performing as project leader, programmer, network and database architect and administrator. Together, these projects perform as a large information management system spanning critical aspects of the production, QA, and customer service. This system is integrated with Visual Manufacturing ERP system by Infor (former Lilly Software Associates)

Pacific West Airways - Assistant Director of Web and Technology Integration. Participated in developing company web site. Visual Interdev, MS Access.

U.S. Freightways, Rosemont, IL – Consultant (independent). Developed and deployed a business application according to client’s specifications, provided quite a performance, safety and friendly interface. VB6, Crystal Reports 7 (as ActiveX Designer from VB), SQL Server 7, ADO/OLE DB, MS Installer.

11/99 – 2/00

American College of Healthcare Executives Consultant via RHI Consulting. Performed development and maintenance of various business projects in MS VB6, VBA, SQL Server, Access, ADO, and Crystal Reports.
10/99 Automatic Data Processing, Inc. - National Account Services, Deerfield, IL – Consultant via Maxim Group. Accomplished a very time-constrained project in a team environment with MS SQL Server utilizing Transact SQL, stored procedures, Visual Basic, MS Access, RDO and ODBC.
3/99 – 7/99 Citibank Travel Payment Services, Chicago, IL – Consultant (via Professional Access Ltd.) Participated in projects of developing business applications in VB6 under Windows 98 and NT, using COM, MS Access, ActiveX and Visual Interdev. I created classes for communication of the program with credit card reading device and with remote VISA host via modem. These classes implemented the VISAÔ transaction protocols involved in VISA Travel Money card processing. Another project involved relational database design and implementation, and developing VB applications accessing it via DAO and RDO.
This software is being deployed on about 200 Citibank locations overseas.
7/98 – 3/99 First Chicago NBD Corp. (now JPMorgan Chase), Chicago, IL: Capital Markets Systems.
Participated in Y2K project, utilizing PL/I, BAL, REXX, REXXSQL, DB2/VM, UDB, ISPF, VB5, VBA, Crystal Reports, SQL Server. MS Access.
3/98 – 7/98 RJM Systems, Arlington Heights, IL: Programmer. Accomplished Y2K project on company’s software product SourceBank (about 100,000 lines of code in BAL, about 200 customers – software development companies), tested and prepared for deployment the new release of SourceBank. Administered the operating system. BAL, REXX, VM/ESA.
7/97 – 3/98 First Chicago NBD Corp., Chicago, IL: Capital Markets Systems – Consultant.
Accomplished the project of accommodation the programs processing SWIFT transactions to new standards just approved by SWIFT. The software was deployed in several locations worldwide. REXX, DB2, ISPF, BAL.
4/97 – 7/97 Towers Perrin, Valhalla, NY. Consultant (through SANS Consulting). Accomplished several diverse projects on mainframe, DOS and Windows platform. COBOL, REXX, IBM FORTRAN, MS FORTRAN, PCL5, FOCUS, MS ACCESS, SQL Server, Crystal Reports. In parallel, created a Web site for the hotel where I resided.
11/95 – 4/97 First Chicago NBD Corp., Chicago, IL: CSC then Capital Markets Systems (through Midcom Corp.): Consultant.
Maintained and developed business applications using PL/I, DB2, QMF, ISPF, BAL, REXX, REXXSQL, VB, VBA, SQL Server, UNIX.
08/95 – 11/95 John Deere Credit Services, Madison, WI. Contract consulting through CTG. Developed (full life-cycle including GUI design, coding, debugging, implementation in production with pilot team) interactive business application in MS Visual Basic 3 and MS Access 2 (prototyping) working with the data at remote DB2 accessed via direct ODBC calls (IBM CAE/DOS driver with DDCS/6000). Compared to the "standard" VB JET approach, direct ODBC better met the client's requirements for the speed of database transactions. Third-party products utilized MicroHelp VBTools (custom controls), Novell API (to extract network ID in order to avoid second logon ID for DB2), AccuMail (verification of postal addresses and zip code provision). Resolved the problem of hanging DB2 threads produced by Windows client application. Data model developed and normalized for the project.
11/93 – 06/95 Rosbi Inform Ltd., St.Petersburg, Russia. Senior Programmer/Analyst/Consultant. Accomplished the project of Russian localization of IBM Office Vision (written in BAL) for IBM Corporation. On client’s site, performed database administering, application programming, data modeling, GUI design (Visual Basic, Access, REXX/ISPF, BAL, and DB2). Developed and implemented project to replace existing ADABAS/NATURAL database at the Regional Motor Vehicle Department with the client-server environment (Visual Basic –DB2/VM). As active team leader, provided DB2 physical and logical design, installation, benchmarking, tuning (Omegamon/DB2, Platinum Database Analyzer, BAL), administering, and application programming.
91 – 11/93 Municipal Computer Center, St.Petersburg, Russia. Bureau Chief in the Perspective Developments Department. Installed DB2 and provided further tuning, systems programming. Implemented the project of St.-Petersburg Region population and Social Accounting databases: planning (logical and physical), installation, data modeling, application programming management, administration, and troubleshooting. Developed field procedures in BAL for DB2 to implement sorting by Russian alphabet.
83 – 91 National R&D Radio & Acoustics Institute, St.Petersburg, Russia. Dept. Chief (before 1989 – Lead Engineer, before 1988 – Senior Engineer). Programming (PL/I, TSO), later – MVS and VM/SP systems programming. Installed and administered operating systems and databases (OS VS2, VM, ADABAS, DB2), other systems software packages, provided physical planning, performance tuning, and backup/recovery maintenance. Developed and implemented system utilities in BAL and REXX for accounting of system resources, collection of hardware information, automation of operator activities.
